The book reflects on the inner conflicts of social hierarchy and the ways in which narratives shape the landscape. It features a series of portraits of trees, which are a prominent but often ignored aspect of the city. These trees, despite being the same species as those featured in historical tourist attraction photos, are rarely given the same attention.
Interwoven throughout the book is a transcript of a half-year-long conversation between the author and a friend, in which they ask each other abstract questions about their location and time. Despite their failed attempts to understand each other, the conversation ultimately ends on the day they finally meet in person.
